"Though it's based in environmental science and the issues we have in our world with the destruction of all things that are green, it's cool how Heather Ransom twists the concept of 'going green.' There's great action, and everybody loves a little romance in a YA book! Going Green has all of the elements that a good young adult book needs including the stressful adult relationships with children and trust issues, as well as self-discovery and self-awareness when introduced to a new and different environment.
I also like the modern technology, specifically the cool idea of the bracelets to collect memories. And I really liked the ending - the epilogue made me want to read the second book to see what happens to the protagonist next! Will she betray her family in the city she's known her whole life? Or will she side with the new world she's discovered and the boy who introduced her to it?" |
